Kids School Health Advisory Council

 

Frostwood’s KSHAC is a council of enthusiastic, 4th and 5th grade students, that meet one to two times a month to develop their own ideas on ways they can promote health and wellness through their actions on our campus.  They act as leaders by being the voice for the student body as it relates to physical and mental health.

Character traits of members of the KSHAC include:

Leadership, Commitment, Respectful, Risk Takers, Scholars, Social

Mission Statement:

Frostwood KSHAC is committed to helping kids, staff, parents and community, including those less fortunate, through exercising, eating healthy, promoting safety and a clean environment.  We will lead by example with our actions, activities, words and outreach.

Areas KSHAC participates in:

  • Assisting in the planning and maintenance of the edible school garden
  • Promotion of the school salad bar
  • Conducting school wide taste tests of fruits, vegetables and other healthy foods
  • Health and fitness week activities
  • Organized runs and bike rides for the students
  • Occasional participation in CSHAC, (Campus School Health Advisory Council) and DSHAC, (District School Health Advisory Council) meetings.
